Our very first winner, Louchavan Lemard, is already setting the bar high following his triumph at The Plumber Awards earlier this year.
Since lifting the inaugural Plumber Awards trophy in June, Louchavan has been busy giving back to the industry that he’s so passionate about. His latest project involved helping to secure a donation of top-quality plumbing and heating kit for the students at Euston Skills Centre in London, where he regularly volunteers his time.
From the World Plumbing Conference to the classroom
Earlier this year, the World Plumbing Conference returned to UK soil for the first time since 2011, organised by the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE). As part of the conference, an invitational UK Skills Forum was held at InstallerSHOW 2026, giving tradespeople from 16 countries the chance to put their skills to the test. The participants used kit donated by leading manufacturers including Mueller Europe Copper Tubes, Hinton Tools, Polypipe Building Products, Rothenberger, Aalberts, Monument Tools, LIXIL-GROHE, Fernox and Knipex.
When the doors closed, CIPHE was determined that the impact of the conference wouldn’t end there. Working with global social impact organisation, International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (IWSH), they were searching for a good home for the equipment, and that’s where Louchavan stepped in.
Thanks to the work he already does supporting students at Euston Skills Centre, Louchavan was able to connect the dots, helping the college get its hands on top-quality kit that students can now use in training, and also out on live projects near the college. It’s a brilliant example of what can happen when people across the industry pull together for the greater good.
Plumbing and heating ambassador
It’s exactly this kind of commitment that made Louchavan such a deserving first-ever winner of The Plumber Awards. He’s already proving to be a genuine ambassador for the industry, giving so much back to the next generation only a couple of months on from his win.
Louchavan’s ongoing work in supporting young people into the trade doesn’t stop there. He’s also running a GoFundMe campaign to help young adults build a future through work experience. You can find out more and support his worthy cause here.
