Our sponsor Kingsbridge Insurance has launched a campaign that’s got the whole trade talking. Running throughout October, #ProtectYourMind is about encouraging plumbers and tradespeople to open up about what keeps them mentally strong and raising money for The Lost City charity while doing it.
Earlier this month, to mark World Mental Health Day, Kingsbridge Insurance launched Protect Your Mind a campaign dedicated to raising awareness and funds for mental health support within the trades community.
Running throughout October, the initiative encourages tradespeople across the UK to open up and share how they look after their mental wellbeing. For every video posted on social media using the hashtag #ProtectYourMind and tagging @kingsbridgehq, the company will donate £5 to The Lost City, a suicide prevention charity founded by On The Tools, Band of Builders and Construction Sport.
Starting conversations that matter
While conversations about safety on site are common, discussions about mental health often aren’t. The Protect Your Mind campaign aims to change that — by getting tradies talking about what helps them stay grounded, focused, and mentally strong.
“We know how tough the job can be,” said Olivia Bufton – Social Media Manager at Kingsbridge Insurance. “Long hours, tight deadlines, and financial pressures all take their toll. Protect Your Mind is about breaking down barriers and reminding everyone in the trade that it’s okay to talk, and that no one has to face things alone.”
Adding to this, Olivia shared:
“We really wanted to do something that would make a difference for Mental Health Awareness Month this year. We see too many brands posting about it, with no actions off the back of it to help the cause. It’s ambitious for us as we’re still a small brand, but we know the community will back us.”
How to get involved
The rules are simple:
- Record a short video sharing how you protect your mind — it could be a daily habit, a coping tip, or a message to others.
- Post it on social media using #ProtectYourMind and tag @kingsbridgehq (Kingsbridge Group on Facebook).
- For every post shared, Kingsbridge will donate £5 to The Lost City to support mental health initiatives for tradies.
By joining in, participants not only raise funds for a vital cause but also help build a culture where mental health is spoken about as openly as physical safety.
Building stronger minds, together
The Lost City was established by On The Tools, Band of Builders and Construction Sport to address the heartbreaking rate of suicide in the trades industry. Every pound raised through Protect Your Mind will go directly towards helping those struggling.
Kingsbridge is inviting everyone in the industry — from apprentices to business owners — to take part, share their story, and help spark conversations that could save lives.
