Why have we created The Plumber Awards?

While the sister awards, the Heating Installer Awards, celebrates installers, we thought to ourselves – why stop there? Plumbers deserve credit too! Plain and simple, that’s why we created The Plumber Awards – to shine a light on the best-of-the-best in the UK. 

We know that plumbers undertake a variety of work too ranging from drainage, emergency call outs, blockages, kitchen and/or bathroom renovations and much more. For us, it doesn’t matter what the job was, it’s the problem you faced and how you went about solving it that matters. So you may find yourself in a category being judged against someone who has undertaken a very different project and that’s okay! We’re looking for the best thinkers, the best problem solvers and those who really put customer care at the forefront of their work, no matter what the job was.

How it works

Each plumber will be asked to answer questions in order to enter. We can then build a complete picture of the great work that plumbers have done – and importantly, how they did it. 

The questions we will ask will include:

• Qualifications and training undertaken, as well as background information about your business
• Examples of projects undertaken, products used, and reasons why you made the decisions you did 
• What was different or unique about the jobs you’re telling us about?
• Send us images, videos and anything else you can to show off your jobs

 

And we’ll also ask you to:

• Send in proof of your Level 2 qualification
• Tell us how you go above and beyond with customer care/after care
• Describe how you comply with the water regulations in your every day work

The Plumber Awards: Regional Awards

We will crown one plumber per region as the best-of-the-best. Recognising expertise, passion, commitment and of course high standards, this award sees one winner per region in the UK. This category is open to UK residents aged 18 years with a Level 2 plumbing qualification.

Winners will receive a bundle of prizes from the sponsors as well as joining an active community of first-class plumbers.

How are the winners picked?

The Plumber Awards’ regional winners are judged and scored by an expert panel, and these scores will count for some of the total mark.

A further 20% of the score will come from public voting, and the final amount from a response-to-scenario test – which all of the shortlisted entrants will be required to complete (this test will be created by representatives from independent organisation, the CIPHE).
